Madagascar is governed by a President of the Republic elected by universal suffrage. The Malagasy constitution establishes a bicameral Parliament comprising two chambers: the Senate and the National Assembly. Executive power is exercised by the Prime Minister — Head of Government — and the cabinet currently includes twenty ministries.
